Bernd Lampe is one of the key figures at Beckermann Küchen. In 1978, he joined the planning department as a qualified architectural draughtsman. From there, his career took him through administrative roles, office management and sales management, eventually leading him to the position of managing director, a role he has held since 1999.
When Bernd took over responsibility for sales in 1994, with a turnover of around 20 million DM and a workforce of around 100, kitchens were still often drawn by hand, orders were sent by fax and processed manually – and filing cabinets were a common feature of the offices and everyday working life.
Today, the processes have been digitised, production operates on a ‘batch size 1’ basis, and new technologies – including artificial intelligence – are finding their way into day-today working life. With a turnover of around 50 million euros and some 220 employees, the company is financially sound, technologically advanced and clearly positioned for success in the market. In recognition of this entrepreneurial achievement, Bernd, together with his fellow directors, was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the Oldenburg Münsterland region in 2015.
Now, after 48 years with the company, Bernd Lampe is stepping down: “I will miss my work and my colleagues. But I am delighted that, in Dirk, we have found a successor who values our principles and our philosophy and is already putting his heart and soul into developing them further.” For Bernd, this marks the start of a new chapter – with more time for his family and his horses. Over many years, he has built up a successful breeding programme for Oldenburg dressage and show jumping horses.
We know Bernd Lampe to be level-headed, clear-thinking and reliable. He is someone who does not need many words, but who provides guidance. Someone who listens and makes decisions with sound judgement. Ultimately, it is precisely this attitude that defines our Bernd: consistency in turbulent times, responsibility rather than self-promotion, a keen understanding of people and markets – and, above all, a deep passion for what he does.
